Course Corrections: Colorado Summit on Behavioral Health & Criminal Justice

The Colorado Summit on Behavioral Health and Criminal Justice will provide a timely opportunity for regional partners from around the State to:

• Identify local and national best practices for
  • managing behavioral health
  • reducing incarceration
  • promoting public safety and prosperity
• Address data needs and communications challenges
• Align and focus policy reform efforts
• Prioritize necessary course corrections
• Promote bold state and local targets for reform

At this event, Colorado communities and agencies will present work in progress, build and solidify broad support for coordinated efforts to overcome common barriers, and situate their community-based behavioral health and criminal justice reform initiatives on a state roadmap to a healthier, equitable and sustainably prosperous nation.

Day One (August 31):

Cross-system leaders and implementation experts representing regional and national efforts to reduce the role of the criminal justice system in managing behavioral health and to optimize efficient use of resources, will gather at the History Colorado Center in Denver to share best practices and discuss challenges.

Day Two (September 1): SOLD OUT

A smaller group (by invitation only) of representatives from Day One regional teams will convene, along with key leaders and decision-makers for a high-level strategic planning session.

Who Should Attend?

Agencies and organizations across all sectors, representing all Colorado regions that are committed to improved management of behavioral health for the sake of promoting public safety and prosperity, and for reducing incarceration and over-use of the criminal justice system.

Event Objectives:

• Establish a common language for advancing the objectives of a thriving community.
• Produce a high-level state roadmap to health, equity, and prosperity.
• Identify and promote best practices in improving behavioral health outcomes and reducing the human costs of criminal justice, law enforcement and emergency response involvement in behavioral health crises.
• Acknowledge known obstacles to the implementation of best practices for managing behavioral health and reducing incarceration, and describe pathways to overcoming or circumventing these.
• Highlight, refine, and disseminate successful local and regional behavioral health management strategies that are data-driven, population-specific, collaborative and multi-disciplinary.

Event Fees

Included are breakfast, lunch, evening reception, and admission to the History Colorado Center Museum on August 31. Additional information regarding participation in the September 1 event will be provided via special invitation.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

There is no need to bring your printed ticket. Be sure to check in at the registration desk with your name and organization, and you will be given your badge.

What is the refund policy?

Tickets are not refundable but they are readily transferrable. We anticipate a sold-out event.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

How do I register for September 1?

Eventbrite registration is still available for the August 31 event. However, to maintain the focus and size of September 1 activities, registration for that day was by invitation only.

If you received an invitation for September 1 activities, please note, this day is now sold out. Please sign up for August 31st activities and we will manually register you for September 1 as space becomes available.
